His journey began in boxing and mixed martial arts, where he built an impressive 6–1 record with all six victories coming by submission or knockout. His passion eventually shifted fully toward Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, earning his black belt in December 2013 and continuing his development under Professor Bruno “Tank” Mendes.

As the owner and head instructor of Anthony Mitchell Jiu Jitsu Studio, Anthony brings decades of real-world training, teaching, and competition experience onto the mats every day. His coaching style combines detailed technique, disciplined training, and individual attention in a welcoming environment where beginners, families, recreational students, and serious competitors can all succeed.
Anthony believes Jiu-Jitsu is about much more than learning how to fight. It teaches confidence, discipline, resilience, problem-solving, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. His mission is to challenge every student while keeping training safe, productive, and enjoyable—helping people achieve things they may never have thought possible.
